CHORAL SINGING CONTEST OF SOUTH AMERICAN FOLK AND POPULAR MUSIC
La Plata, Argentina
AIMS
The Contest has the following aims:
1. To stimulate musical creation through the performance of ethnic, folk and/or popular choral works.
Performing them and listening to them is not only an important artistic act, but also a cultural fact in which both, performers and audience strengthen their roots and integrate themselves to the region they belong to. Their music is both a sign and a symbol which should be taken care of, maintained, increased and transmitted to future generations because it is part of the most important values of their nation.
2. To strengthen, through choral activity, bonds of knowledge, friendship and comprehension among men, and to foster respect for Nature. We believe this will
enable us to overcome the barriers set up by hate and intolerance among peoples and to stop the destruction of the Planet.
